Sometimes I feel like I am walking around like this:
So I am like, God, please fix this for me!
And when it doesn’t happen as fast as I want, I feel like this:
And then I think, God has control. God has control.
And then it turns out His plan is way better than mine was and I’m like:
I sooooo needed this right now!

Post with 1 note
Today, after eating at a Mexican restaurant, my cousins (Hunter: 6, Austin: 9) and I went to the park. This is the conversation:
Austin: Mexican men like white women.
Me: Well, white men like Mexican women, too.
Austin: Why? Do you like Mexican women?
Me: Yes, why?
Austin: That’s gross!
Me: What?! Why is that gross?
Austin: They’re colored. And we’re not.
Me: Austin, don’t be like that. It doesn’t matter about the color of their skin, but what does matter is the content of their heart.
Hunter: Yeah, Austin! God loves us all the same, the color don’t matter.
So the point of this is kind of confusing:
· I cannot stand racism, but I don’t blame my little cousin for what he said. He has been raised up in an environment that is not very tolerant of anyone of ‘color’ as he and a lot of people put it. The fact of the matter is that we cannot look at the outer appearance and judge who they are as a person, though we all do it. Just because someone is darker or lighter than you, that doesn’t mean that you have any right to condemn them. They are a human being with a soul and a purpose and we gotta treat them the same as we want to be treated. We cannot base our feelings of them on their outward appearance. Not only does this go for skin color, but also for outer appearance in general. I know a lot of people like to talk about people with tattoos, piercings, etc. News flashà these people are people just like you and I. They need love and respect like we all do. Please don’t judge a book by its cover; I know you’ve heard it a million times since Elementary school.
· I’m so proud that my little cousin, regardless of the morals he grows up around is able to form an accurate opinion of the Father’s love for us. He loves us all no matter what color, what flaws, what__(insert other things here)__. I’m so thankful for the people that get this, and I pray for those that don’t get it to get it. Pray for these people that are trapped in a racism-driven home life, that they would understand the lies that they hear.
